Michelangelo Caravaggio – Canvas Prints
Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio was an Italian painter who was born in Millan in 1571. His father was an architect and personal decorator to the Marchese of Caravaggio, this is a town east of Milan. They moved to this location because of a plague that overtook Milan, one which killed both his father and grandfather on the very same day. He was trained by the Milanese master Simone Peterzano, who was himself a pupil of the great Titian. After his training, he migrated to Rome because of some petty quarrels and the fact that he had wounded a police officer and now feared for his life.
