About India Mahdavi

India Mahdavi is a French architect and designer of Iranian-Egyptian origin. Her career began in 1990 when her projects were developed with a style associated with a certain vision of happiness and color. Since then, her talents gave her the opportunity to work with Maja Hoffman, the Beaumarly group, the Valentino house, the Laduree house, Monaco Sea Bath Company, and many others. Her designs are loved by many private residences, as well as restaurants and other establishments from around the globe.

India Mahdavi was born in Tehran to an Egyptian mother and an Iranian father. During her childhood, she was blessed to have visited Cambridge, Heidelberg, Venice and Paris.

She has a degree in architecture, industrial design, graphic design and furniture design. Her credentials led her to have her professional debut with the decorator, Christian Liaigre, wherein she became the artistic director for almost 10 years.

With the knowledge and experiences she had through the years, she eventually opened her own studio of design, Rue Las Cases, in Paris in 1999.

Awarded with France’s Officier des Arts et des Lettres, India Mahdavi is still considered to be under the radar in the United States. However, her furnishing lining can be found at the New York-based Ralph Pucci International. In addition to these, she strongly believes that her style is where the trend in design is headed. According to her, Europeans are now bringing back color in their homes after using beige and white for a long period of time. She also predicts that  Americans are going into that trend soon.
