The first people to arrive on the Hawaiian Islands were the Polynesians who travelled to Hawaii by canoe around 500 AD. Each island was ruled by a different chief but in the late 1700s, Chief Kamehameha took over each of the islands one by one. By 1810, he had taken control of all the islands and became the first Hawaiian king. This is what we referred to earlier as Hawaii posters not only having that renowned natural beauty, but also a rich and fascinating history. The Kingdom of Hawaii and the United States had established close ties and trade treaties but in 1893, unsurprisingly, the kingdom was overthrown and the Republic of Hawaii was established.
